In this course, students will learn the fundamentals of cartography, from basic map design and page layout to advanced techniques and web mapping.
The course begins with an introduction to cartography, introducing students to the basics of data visualization and layout design. The course then proceeds by focusing on specific aspects of cartography, from vector and raster symbology to labeling, charts, and map series. Each topic area reinforces the content learned in previous topics and includes instructions and demonstrations in addition to hands-on cartography projects using ArcGIS Pro.
Through an understanding of cartographic design principles, students of this course will develop skills to efficiently complete professional cartography projects using ArcGIS Pro.
